We take a loving approach

The Family Intervention Planning session can be the first step in approaching your loved one about their substance use.

We provide families with the tools they need in order to help their loved one understand the impact their substance use is having on themselves and the family as a whole.

We take a loving approach that considers the person with the substance use problem as an integral member of the family that needs support. We have found that the best approach is to provide family members with the tools to carry out this process themselves rather than bringing in a stranger or “expert” as that may trigger defensiveness and feelings of being attacked rather than being met with care.
